The Maritime Security ID Card or MSIC is an example of Multicard's participation in National ID Card Programmes. In Australia, Anyone working within a secure area of a Port, Ship or offshore oil and gas facility is required to display an identification card known as a Maritime Security Identification Card or MSIC. FASTCARDS has been approved by the Department of Transport and Regional services (DoTaRS) as an authorized Issuing body. Only authorized Issuing Bodies may issue an MSIC.

Monday 08 June 2009Bakers Delight Chose Fastcards RFID Event Solution for its Global Franchisee MeetingOver 1,000 delegates enjoy efficient access to all events!Bakers Delight and COBS BREAD recently staged their International Conference in Cairns, Australia. More than 1200 delegates from Australia, New Zealand and Canada attended the conference including franchisees, retail staff and corporate staff. Bakers Delight turned to Fastcards, a Syscan International Inc Subsidiary to assist manage the large traffic flow of the delegates in and out of the conference plenary sessions. Fastcards Events RFID solution was deployed across seven main entries into the Cairns Convention Centre. The Fastcards Events RFID Solution provided the organisation with valuable feedback on who reported to which session which will also assist in future conference planning. Franchisee participants carried a UHF RFID Tag on their lanyard credentials which was read at entry portals made up of a reader and antennas. Chris Caldwell, General Manager Marketing & Operational Support from Bakers Delight said "We used the RFID system to create a team based competition among the delegates to encourage participation in both plenary sessions and extra curricular activities. It was a great way of using the RFID technology to support both the event process and our marketing information system".
